Exporting CIM Data to DealCloud
Metal can analyze Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs) and export the extracted data directly to your DealCloud instance. This streamlines the process of capturing deal information from CIM documents.
How It Works
Upload a CIM document to Metal.
Metal's AI extracts key information including company details, financial metrics, and business descriptions.
From the CIM analysis view, click Export to DealCloud.
Select the target DealCloud entry type and map fields as needed.
Metal creates or updates the corresponding record in DealCloud.
This feature supports exporting to data to deals
Syncing Data from DealCloud
Metal can sync data from DealCloud to keep your research up to date:
Companies: Sync company records to enable cross-referencing with your documents
Deals: Keep deal pipeline information available in Metal
Contacts: Maintain contact information for your coverage universe
Interactions: Bring activity history into Metal for reference
Syncing runs automatically on a schedule, keeping Metal up to date with changes in your DealCloud instance.
Creating and Updating Records
Metal can create new records or update existing records in DealCloud directly from chat or workflows. This includes:
Logging interactions from unstructured meeting notes and creating or updating the associated objects (companies, contacts, deals, etc.)
Updating deal information extracted from CIMs
Creating or updating contacts extracted from CIMs
When creating records, Metal automatically handles DealCloud's field types including text, numbers, dates, choice fields, reference fields, and user assignments.
Restrictions
Write operations create audit logs that track what was exported and when.
Some DealCloud field types may have specific requirements (e.g., choice fields only accept predefined values).
Large batch exports may be processed asynchronously.
Field mappings must be configured by an administrator before importing and exporting data
